“Hands greet, communicate, envelop, and age, projecting the patina of time like a jewellery piece that is there to keep you safe or remind you of someone. The evil eye carries a long story and joins us together in many ways. The language of our bodies sometimes more revealing than words.” – Marios Schwab
The Eye Ring is a seamless union of history and modernity. The mati – a blue amulet in the shape of an eye —has been worn by Greeks to ward off negativity since antiquity. Threaded onto a delicate, 14k gold band, the blue glass bead becomes an elegant talisman that moves around freely. The Eye Ring is a distillation of good luck, a memory of Greek summer to carry all year long.
Designed in 2012 as a token of affection and protection for friends and family, the Eye Ring was quickly picked up by niche boutiques and museum shops worldwide. The simple ring design was applied to earrings, hoops, and bangles, available in different sizes. Easy to slide on, light enough to wear at all times. A modern heirloom that can be layered, gifted, or personalised with additional charms.
